Whether you are planning to spend Christmas days on your own or surrounded by family and friends, these ideas will help you to make this winter season in 2020 merrier and more memorable.

Make Christmas Treats

It is not just about cooking, trying new recipes, and improving your culinary skills  - it is about spending time in the kitchen with your family and loved ones. There are so many delicious things you can cook during the Christmas holidays, including snowflake cookies, brownies, gingerbread, truffles, and other sweet stuff. If you are planning to cook with kids, you can organize a family contest on the best decorative skills and let everyone decorate their treats in their own creative way.

Go Iceskating

Almost every city and town has an ice-skating rink. What could be more fun and romantic than skating around the rink by holding the hand of someone you love? If you have a spacious backyard, you can even make your own skating rink and enjoy it with your family and kids.

Volunteer Your Time

Christmas season is a great time to remember how fortunate you are and to do something good for others. Find some time in your busy schedule to head to a soup kitchen and feed homeless people or to go to a children's hospital and give Christmas gifts. If you do not know how to contribute and where to start, contact a local non-profit organization or a church - they always need some help.

Prepare A Christmas Playlist

The Christmas season would not be complete without a Christmas playlist. Take your time and put together a list of your favorite Christmas songs. Once it is ready you can play it at home or in your car to lift your Christmas mood and create a festive atmosphere.

Play Board Games

Christmas time is not only about celebrations and having fun, but also about spending time with your family. Make some hot chocolate, start a fire in your fireplace, and play a board game with your family and friends. They do not have to be holiday based - they should be fun and engaging. You can play Clue, Scrabble, Monopoly, Charades, or whatever you like.

Go On A Christmas Scavenger Hunt

It is a great social activity for both adults and kids that can easily become your new Christmas tradition. Split your family and friends into two teams and let them find certain Christmas-related things from the list you prepared. You can turn it into a competition and even offer inexpensive prizes for winners. A scavenger hunt is also a great excuse to get out of the house and check the Christmas lights and decorations in your neighborhood.

Attend A Church Service

Though Christmas is full of time and joy, we should not forget who this holiday really about - Jesus. Gather with your friends, family, and neighbors at a Christmas Eve Service to pray and thank the Lord for all the people and things you have in life. Even if you are not religious, attending church on Christmas is a great social activity that will bring your family closer together and give you peace.

Buy Gifts For Your Family and Friends

Do not leave your Christmas shopping until the last minute. Prepare the list of gifts as early as possible and start looking for gifts once the Christmas season starts. We know how hard it can be to find the right gift for everyone. Therefore, in order to help you, we have prepared a list with some cool gift ideas for everyone.

Read Christmas Stories and Drink Hot Chocolate

It is another great family activity that does not require any complicated preparation or spending money. All you need to do is to find a good recipe for hot chocolate and pick a few books with Christmas stories that both you and your kids will enjoy. To make this activity more magical, do it in your pajamas sitting at the Christmas tree or fireplace.

Go Sledding

It does not matter how old you are - sledding is one of the funniest and exciting winter traditions for all ages. If you are lucky enough to live in a place with a lot of snow, grab your snow sled and head up to one of the hills to have fun. If there are no mountains or hills near your house, you can also take a trip to one of the ski resorts that offer sledding and tubbing activities.

Host a Christmas Party in Your Neighborhood

Celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season with a party in your neighborhood. Invite your friends and neighbors and ask everyone to bring their favorite dish and a small unwrapped gift to donate to one of the charities in your community. The party will help you to strengthen bonds with your neighbors, celebrate the start of the magical season and do something nice for those who are in need.

It is never early enough to start planning the Christmas season, especially if you have a list of cool ideas and activities. We hope that our list will serve you as an inspiration and help to turn Christmas 2020 into an unforgettable time for you and your loved ones.
